This was how the children ate their meals
This year Shelter's family grew with additional children in the toddlers group. The youngest children are likely to be newer at the orphanage and are also the most susceptible group to suffer from the effects of malnutrition and the lack of a strong immune system. The director and I wanted to do something both special and practical for these children. At Shelter there is nowhere for the children to sit and eat at meal time. There was also a significant lack of utensils (only a dozen or so spoons), so we decided to create a dining area for the toddlers. We built two tables and four benches, bricked a wall in the dining area, purchased paint and spoons.

The toddlers enjoying a meal at their new table. All smiles!
